Fundraiser dinner @ Afghan Horsemen Restaurant
Each summer, PAC holds a fundraising event at the Afghan Horseman restaurant in Granville Island. The restaurant owners Razia and Zaher Nasiry have always been very supportive of PAC and continue to be major donors of our organization.
It is a dinner fundraiser where a portion of the ticket price pays for the dinner while another portion goes to support PAC projects. Charitable receipts are also issued for a portion of the donation. Fortunately, this year David Crenna generously paid to cover the entire cost of food for all our guests and therefore all the money raised went straight to our projects. Thank you David!
During the dinner, a short presentation regarding the budget and PAC projects was made to update our donors and guests. Awesta Masshoor, our board member in charge of public relations, introduced the presentation and was followed by Samenah Badiei, our treasurer, who presented the budget. Finally our board member COO, Shahnaz Qayumi talked about the PAC projects, including the Psychology and Education Faculty of Kabul University library project and the Parent’s Guide M-Learning project. We now have a list of people who are familiar and keen to follow our projects in Afghanistan.
We would like to thank all of our supporters who came to the 2012 fundraiser as well as those who couldn’t make it but contributed to PAC nonetheless. Special thanks to our major donors for the past two years: Anne Halicki, Stacey Nixon, Eric David and Razia and Zaher Nasiry. We appreciate the support!
